TIBCO Hawk® provides the industry's best, sophisticated tool for monitoring and managing distributed applications and systems throughout the enterprise. With Hawk, system administrators can monitor application parameters, behavior, and loading activities for all nodes in a local or wide-area network and take action when pre-defined conditions occur. In many cases, runtime failures or slowdowns can be repaired automatically within seconds of their discovery, reducing unscheduled outages and slowdowns of critical business systems.

TIBCO Hawk 6.2.0 is a feature-rich release and makes the better-together story with LogLogic Log Management Intelligence stronger.

Here are some of the major highlights. To see a complete list of new features, check the release notes and documentation here.

    Installer and configuration improvements

We have improved the Hawk components configuration experience by introducing configuration options during installation itself. Users no longer need to know which .cfg files to edit post-installation. In case users want to modify the configuration parameters later, they can do so by editing the .cfg files. More details here.

    LDAP based user authentication support

Hawk Console now supports LDAP based user authentication. More details here.

External Database support for Hawk Alerts

All alerts received by the Hawk Console can now be stored in the external database that you configure. Previous alerts are retained even after you restart the Hawk Console. Supported external databases: MySQL, Apache Ignite and H2 database. Read more here.

    Java 11 support

If you are on Java 11, then you can use Hawk 6.2.0 which supports Java 11.

    Rulebase repository

Using the rulebase repository you can now store rulebases and schedules to a configured location or in Hawk Console. This way you can create a rulebase once and deploy it anywhere (on any agent) in the given domain. The management and configuration of rulebases in the repository can be done from the Hawk Console.

Bulk import and export of Hawk rulebases

You can now do a bulk import/export of Hawk rulebases from the Hawk Console or using REST API. More details here.

Configuring collectors and forwarders using Hawk Console

The Universal Collector microagent offered until Hawk 6.1.0 now has a brand new and improved avatar! You can now configure file, cmd, rulebase, metrics, Syslog, remote file collectors and ULDP (LogLogic), UDP, TCP forwarders from the centralized 'UC configuration' screen on the Hawk Console.

Note: The new Universal Collector Microagent is a superset of the old microagent and has advanced logs and metric collection and forwarding capabilities. Users who are using the old Universal Collector Microagent will need to re-configure the forwarders and collectors in the new Universal Collector Microagent. See install instructions here.
