Two instances on the same server Production and Test/Development

Hello all,

We're having an issue with Insight 7.9.1 on a production server (Windows update broke the ability to modify configurations) that sits on our CRM server. I want to move our Insight production server to an independent new instance and as well create a test environement on this same server. Is this possible

We are going to be going to version 7.9.5 regardless, but I would rather manage and stand-up one server than 2 separate ones.

Present Environment:

Windows Server 2012R2

MS CRM 2013 (going to be upgraded this year)

NAV 2015 (going to 2018 shortly)

Insight 7.9.1

 

Integrations with CRM, NAV (separate DBs on same SQL Server) and a 3rd party SQL database

 

Going to:

Windows 10 PRO

7.9.5

Everything else (except updated Adapters/Integrations) stays the same.

Hi Dave,

Thank you for posting you questions. TIBCO Scribe can only connect to one Scribeinternal database at a time and can only install one copy of Scribe insight. It is not recommended to use the same server for test and production as production will most likely need to be constantly running and you would not want to risk testing in an evironment that you could harm production. Our recommendation is to always seperate Test from Production.
