Hi All,

I am new to TIBCO MFT and we want to upgrade our REHEL 6 servers to RHEL 7 and we want to do it in a green field approach (complete new environment). We have nearly 200 flows in Production environment. So in this we also want to upgrade MFT. Please find below details:

Below are the version details we currently use:

TIBCO MFT Command Center- 8.0.1 HF-005

TIBCO MFT Internet Server- 8.0.1 HF-005

TIBCO MFT Linux PS -7.2.0 HF-006

TIBCO MFT Windows PS-7.2.0 HF-006

TIBCO MFT DNI -8.0.0 HF-002

Latest versions

TIBCO MFT Command Center-8.2.0 HF-002

TIBCO MFT Internet Server- 8.2.0 HF-002

TIBCO MFT Linux PS- 8.0.0 HF-002

TIBCO MFT Windows PS-8.0.0 HF-003

TIBCO MFT DNI-8.0.0 HF-002

Could any one help how we can proceed and how much effort it will take.

Thanks in Advance!

Hi

There are multiple ways to carry out the upgrade and its purely depend upon the architeture standardyou follow in your project..

Points that I can share:

1.You've not mentioned DB What type of DB you are using what is current version of them

2.If you are not upgrading DB and going to use same DB and then you need to use the same DB with same SID/SNAME that you used in previous versions during upgrade of IS and CC.

3. PS can be directly upgraded and replace the configs files from old system such as cfnode.cfg/cfprofile.cfg/etc.. whichever applicable.

4.DNI templates have be replaced in respective /template folder once you've upgraded the DNI.

5. Importantly, read the instructions in every software package before you perform upgrade and ensure you've necessary pre-requisties in place.

Hi Rangagceb,

Thanks for the input. We are using Oracle DB 12.1.0.2. and we are not changing any DB details (using existing DB only).

Please find below steps we are following:

We are getting new servers, Installing new MFT software ,configuring all the existing flows again and testing the flows. My concern is, Is it really needed to configure all the flows again or is there anyway we can eleminate this step as we have more than 200 flows it will be very time taking to configure all of them again.

Thanks,

Hi

You dont have to re-create the internet trasnfer definitions since you are going to use same DB.

For MFTPS, copy the contents of cfnode.cfg/cfprofile.cfg/cfrprofile.cfg etc.. from your existing environment to upgraded environment post successfull installation.

Hope this helps.Let me know for any.

Thanks,

Ranga.
