Niels Jensen Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 In Statistica, I have a problem with results and axis label values showing up with ",." (comma dot) as separator, e.g. 6,.71. When no decimal is included, integers may show up as "X," (e.g. 6,) - so I guess a comma for some reason is added to the integer. I assume that somethingis set up incorrectly in my settings, but I'm not able to find the place to make the correction. Any ideas Best, Niels
Jenny Liu 2 Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 HelloNiels, I don't see this problem in Statistica 13.5. 1. Would you please check if your system has set the Decimal Symbol correctly Make sure it is set to dot "." instead of comma+dot ",." 2. If above system number format are all set correctly and the issue still persists, you may try to delete the StatOpts.xml files in your machine. StatOpts.xml includes the configuration setttings for Statistica. Deletion of StatOpts.xml will make Statistica resort to the default settings. You can refer to this KB:https://support.tibco.com/s/article/What-is-the-StatOpts-xml-file-and-where-is-it-located Hope above info helps.
Niels Jensen Posted January 9, 2020 Author Posted January 9, 2020 Thanks for the response. I have checked the Windows regional settings, and they should be ok. I have set the decimal symbol to "." (dot) and the digit grouping symbol to "," (comma), according to my needs. (I don't think ",." (comma+dot) is an option in Windows). However, I tried to play around with the Windows settings, and I discovered that switching decimal symbol to comma and digit grouping symbol to dot made decimal numbers look as they should (i.e. according to the specification), e.g. "6,71". Using comma as decimal symbol seems to work, while using dot (or the other options available in Windows) as decimal symbol will make the digit grouping symbol appear after the integer part (just before the decimal symbol, as described in my question). Just to clarify: This problem only happens in Statistica, not in any iof the other programs I'm running on my PC. I also tried the second suggestion, i.e. removing the StatOpts files, but that did not have eny effect. If you, based on this information, have any other suggestions, I would appreciate it. Best, Niels
Jenny Liu 2 Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Hi Neils, What is your System Locale and Number Format Are they consistant Have you checked the Graph Options > Scale Values > Axis Value Format for numbers If above does not resolve, Would you please log a support case at https://support.tibco.com/s/ Statistica support team will collect related docs and more info or have a webex session to take a closer look at the issue with you.
Niels Jensen Posted January 10, 2020 Author Posted January 10, 2020 Hi Jenny, It seems like you pointed me towards the issue! In the Windows region setting, I had chosen "Danish (Denmark)" but had manually switched the decimal and and digit grouping symbols (to the UK/US convention). Switching to English (Denmark) did not make a difference, but swiching to English (UK) (or English (US)) solved the issue. I will have to see if this causes problems in my Danish apps - but at least I know where to fix it! I'm still a bit puzzled that Statistica can be triggered to display ",." (comma dot). I have never seen that as a result of a comma-dot confusion (which is not unusual when using international software in Denmark where comma is the standard decimal symbol).. However, I'm glad that I found the reason! Thanks for your help! Niels
