Overview

This template lets you identify product categories that are likely to be bought by the same customers based on their past purchasing behavior.

The template uses a dataset of your customers’ purchase history prepared with the Data Pre-processing template, which can be downloaded at:
https://community.tibco.com/modules/customer-analytics-data-pre-processing-template-tibco-spotfirer.

Using this Affinity Analysis template, you may:

  • Select the product categories for which your customers’ historical purchase are to be considered for affinity analysis
  • Identify product categories with high affinity scores with respect to each other
  • Select product categories similar to each other and look for patterns in purchases by the same customers

Note: This analysis is provided to illustrate analyses of customers' purchase behavior in Spotfire, running on a consumer laptop.  If you have a large dataset that requires more memory and processing power, please consider one of the following:

  • Use Spotfire on a computer or server with more memory and CPU cores
  • Look into TIBCO's Apache Spark Accelerator to build a Customer Analytics solution around Big Data

Customer Analytics Templates for TIBCO Spotfire® Homepage

Introduction

The Customer Analytics Templates is a series of Spotfire® analysis templates used for analyzing customers' purchase behavior. These include the following templates:

Each Spotfire® analysis template may be used on its own or combined to form an analysis workflow.

Business problem addressed by the templates

The Customer Analytics Templates can be used to determine the best offer to present to each customer by analyzing historical purchase data to:

  • Identify customer segments for targeted marketing based on their past purchasing behavior
  • Identify products that are likely to be bought by the same customer
  • Understand customers' propensity to buy products from a different category

When used with historical purchase data that include purchases made during a campaign/promotion period, an analysis can also produce a predictive model to predict a customer's response to a future campaign
