Hello, I want to migrate a large amount of data from a CSV file(and XML also) to dynamics 365.
How we are using it, is to migrate a client from a legacy system to Dynamics 365. They are providing the data to us in csv files and I am simple opening the CSV in excel and saving them as a .xlsx file. Then on the server where I what the on-premise agent installed I placed the .xlsx files in the DataExchange folder. the default location of that folder is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Scribe Software\Scribe Online Agent\DataExchange. I set archive updated data to false. This connector will not work with cloud agent since it needs a folder path to get to the excel files. I have 7 excel files in the folder. If you add a new one to it, just reset the metadata and it will appear as a choice in the dropdown to consume it in the mapping. Here is the help document on the excel connector:
There is a connector for XML that you can install from the marketplace. For CSV you could save them as an xlsx file and use the excel connector or you could use the ODBC connector, this would require you to setup ODBC on the machine you are working on. Personally, I would go with the excel connector, I am currently doing this for a data migration and it works great.
