I have a few spotfire dxp files where the data table was first saved with the data embedded in the dxp file. Later the data was replaced by a new data table and the setting to "linked to source". Everything works fine, but then we noticed that the dxp file is not becoming smaller. The dxp file size is about 100Mb, but as it is linked to the source, it shouldn't be bigger than 1Mb. This I tested by building a new analysis file without first embedding the data.

Replacing the data table again didn't solve the issue. If you rename the dxp file to a zip file, you can see in the DataTables folder 2 data tables, one of which is 100Mb. Deleting this one will result in a not working dxp file.

Is there a way of purging or removing the big data table without corrupting the dxp file? Rebuilding the reports is a lot work and we want to use that as a last resort.
