"Include Empty Values" Option Disappears on Range Filter Control in Text Area

I have created a search tool that uses input field property controls to send parameters to a built-in SQL statement.  I also have several filters in a text area, organized in an accordion.  One of these filters is a range filter.  I want to have the analysis saved with blank input fields so that the user gets a clean slate when they open it in the web player.  However, if I save the file with blank input fields, then upon opening the analysis the "Include Empy Values" checkbox is missing from the range filter and will only reappear if I replace the filter with another one, then change it back.  This occurs in both the web player and analyst client.  One thing to note is that this does not affect the filter within the Spotfire filters menu - the checkbox is only missing from the filter control in my text area.

Has anyone else run into this issue and if so, how did you fix it?  I can get around it by leaving entries in the input fields, but then all the previous search results will be populated on startup, which I would like to avoid if possible.

I am running Spotfire Analyst client v 7.7.1.11.
