Pass JDBCConnection object as argument to JavaInvoke activityin BW 6

I have a need to access the JDBC Connection object from within a Java method. I see documentation that refers to the use of the Get JDBC Connection activity in BW 5, but I am using BW Designer 6.3, and there is no Get JDBC Connection actvity available in the pallette there. I also tried passing in the JDBC connection string parameters as strings and establishing the connection with the Java code (via DriverManager.registerDriver(new tibcosoftwareinc.jdbc.oracle.OracleDriver());), but I get an error when trying to build the EAR.

Any suggestions on how I can work around this issue?

Thanks,

Dean
