Unable to create Spotfire datasource and connect to Teradata via LDAP

Hi,

We recently moved our Teradata authentication to LDAP and post that we are unable to create datasources.

I use the same connection URL as before : jdbc:teradata://TDPROD; along with my username and credentials .

When I try accessing from Teradata SQL assistant I am able to connect to the database but when I connect via Spotfire with the same credentials I am unble to establish a connection.

I get the following error message :

Cannot connect to data source 'TDPROD-360', due to invalid configuration or that the data source is not running.

Database reported:

Illegal configuration: empty password

I tried updating the Connection URL to include LDAP:

  • jdbc:teradata://TDPROD,LOGMECH=LDAP

This also did not work. I got the error message below:

Cannot connect to data source 'TDPROD-360', due to invalid configuration or that the data source is not running.

Database reported:

[Teradata JDBC Driver] [TeraJDBC 14.00.00.21] [Error 1000] [SQLState 08S01] Login failure for Connection to TDPROD,LOGMECH=LDAP Thu Oct 20 11:24:29 PDT 2016 socket orig=TDPROD,LOGMECH=LDAP cid=7929dc1f sess=0 java.net.UnknownHostException: TDPROD,LOGMECH=LDAP   at java.net.Inet6AddressImpl.lookupAllHostAddr(Native Method)

Can someone help me with what has to be done differently to access through LDAP ?
