TIBCO GeoAnalytics - Itinerary Calculation

TIBCO GeoAnalytics provides the means to calculate itineraries between a start and end destination. Parameters include transportation mode (vehicle | pedestrian), avoid toll roads and highways. Results include the route coordinates, turn-by-turn instructions, and route summaries.

 

Use Tile Mapping Service (TMS) and Web Map Service (WMS) layers

TIBCO Spotfire® Map Charts use layers to display makers, features and map elements such as this live weather radar reflectivity map from NOAA.

Use Map Charts to show non-geographical Data

Here a Spotfire map chart is used to display the spatial patterns of defects occurring in the manufacture of semiconductor wafers. A simple (x,y) coordinate system is used to display the defect statistics as markers over a background image of the wafer disc.

Points-in-Polygons to color code shapefile regions

Routing with TIBCO GeoAnalytics

TIBCO GeoAnalytics can be used to find the route between two points. This Webcast shows a TIBCO Spotfire analysis ("Bay Area Location Analytics") that leverages this capability to find the optimal collection of resources and routes.

Use different map projections

In many situations the standard Web Mercator map projection may not be the best to use, for example near northern regions. TIBCO Spotfire map charts support a variety of projections.

 

Use TERR Data Function Points in Polygons to combine information from shapefiles and locations

Geographic information is often available both as locations of specific points as well as geographic regions defined by shapefile polygons. Matching each point to its enclosing polygon allows these data sources to be merged, allowing further analysis and increasing overall value.
