  • Welcome and an introduction to AI and Machine Learning in context of TIBCO tools by Michael O'Connell (Chief Analytics Officer)
  • David Katz will show you how to use the Anomaly Detection Template which is now available for you on the TIBCO Community Exchange. Anomaly detection is a way of detecting abnormal behavior. This template uses an autoencoder machine learning model to specify expected behavior and then monitors new data to match and highlight unexpected behavior - by David Katz (Senior Data Scientist)
  • Peter Shaw will show some interactive examples that demonstrate filled color contour layers in Spotfire map visualizations. One shows the spatial density of points, another shows interpolated values. He will introduce some great new content available on the TIBCO Community specific to geo-analytics - by Peter Shaw (Senior Data Scientist)
  • Heleen Snelting (Data Science Manager EMEA) with a further TIBCO Community update
  • Live Q&A

Merging geospatial location data with polygons: leveraging shapefiles in your analysis

by Peter Shaw

Geographic information is often available both as locations of specific points as well as geographic regions defined by shapefile polygons. Matching each point to its enclosing polygon allows these data sources to be merged, allowing further analysis and increasing overall value.

Our TIBCO Community Component Exchange includes a number of freely-downloadable tools for geospatial analysis; one of these lets you rapidly match point locations to their enclosing shapefile polygons from Spotfire.

We will demonstrate how to download and use this component from the TIBCO Community and show it in action.
