TIBCO Nimbus™ 10 is now GA!

We are pleased to announce the release of TIBCO Nimbus™ 10.

TIBCO Nimbus™ 10 is a landmark release that will improve the User Experience for all users of the application and will further strengthen TIBCO's position as a key player in the Business Process Management space for all people within an organization. TIBCO Nimbus™ 10 will allow business users to add value quicker and further differentiates us in the market.

I'd like to extend my thanks to all of the Engineering, QA, Docs, Marketing and Operations teams who have gone above and beyond in order to produce this significant release.

Key functionality

Following on from our release of TIBCO Nimbus™ Maps earlier this year, the Enterprise version of the product has a completely new User Interface in the browser for creating; collaborating and interacting with process content. The simplified and modern interface allows for people to intuitively access and edit the content that is relevant for them.

A first time run Welcome tour will give customers an overview of the system and describe the key components of the Nimbus artifacts and a new authoring tour will allow authors to get an overview of how to create new content.

Improved Authoring in the browser

The browser based authoring capability has been significantly enhanced to make it easier and quicker to create Nimbus processes than ever before. Objects can be easily created and formatted with minimal assistance. Drill downs (sub levels) and Resources can be created "in line" on the processes and attachments, links and supplementary information can quickly be added via a details panel.

Universal Process Notation (UPN) Methodology Support

Users will be assisted in creating their processes using the standard Nimbus simple notation, known as UPN. Prompts and guidelines will walk people through the process creation to ensure that the methodology is followed to get maximum value from the application i.e:

• Activity - Verb / Noun - What should we do?

• Input - When should we do it?

• Resource - Who should be doing it?

• Output - Why should we be doing it?

Grid and Aligning tools

Easily format your process diagrams using the distance and alignment guidelines within the interface.

Move objects between levels

Select any number of objects (including drill downs) and move them easily to other levels within your process map structures.

Manage the Resource Library in the browser

Create, edit, merge and delete resources from the Central or Local library directly in the browser.

Manage Users and Groups in the browser

Create, edit and delete users. Manage the groups and the memberships to personalize access or apply access rights.

Collaboration and Governance in the browser

Manage your processes and documents using the Authorization and promotion cycle via the browser. Access Rights can be controlled to the content at a folder level as well as at individual process diagram level, to ensure the right people see the right content.

Add attachments and summaries at Diagram Level

Add extra attachments such as Documents and Statement Links at Diagram Level rather than activity level. Summaries can also be added and displayed via Templates. A default data table can also be added and applied to all new activity objects on a Map by Map basis.

Co-Existence of Client and New Web Server Interface

Choose which Maps you want to view in the new interface and run compatibility checks to see the impact of changing. The Author Client can still be used against processes using the "Modern" user interface. The "Classic" user interface is still supported to assist customers along the migration path.
