If you have to manage complex mappings it is a good practice to include in line comments.
This article explain how to do it which is simple.
In your mapper click on the ‘Show/Hide Edit tab’ button to open the ‘XSLT Source’ tab and add your comment in the XSLT code like this :

Once done close the the ‘XSLT Source’ tab by clicking on the ‘Show/Hide Edit tab’ button again and you can now see your comment :
