    TIBCO LogLogic® provides the industry's first enterprise class, end-to-end log and machine data management solution. Using LogLogic log management solutions, organizations can analyze and archive network log data for the purpose of compliance and legal protection, decision support for network security remediation, and increased network performance and improved availability of systems across the organization.


    This Article provides instructions on how to send TIBCO® Data Virtualization events to TIBCO LogLogic® Log Management Intelligence (LMI) for leveraging the power of LogLogic?s Operational Intelligence solution for aggregating and surfacing deep insights into your TIBCO Data Virtualization and surrounding infrastructure. 

    Deploying TIBCO Loglogic® LMI Custom Logger for TIBCO® Data Virtualization

    Pre-requisites

    1. TIBCO LogLogic LMI 6.3.0
    2. TIBCO Data Virtualization

      Administrator rights to install and configure custom logger

    3. Download tib-loglogic-customer-logger-for-DV-v1.0.zip from resource at bottom of the page

      Contains: lmiEventHandler-1.0-SNAPSHOT-jar-with-dependencies.jar and lmi.properties

    Installation Procedure

    1. Extract tib-loglogic-customer-logger-for-DV-<x>.zip 
    2. Locate the lmiEventHandler-<version>-jar-with-dependencies.jar and copy it to the TIBCO Data Virtualization extension directory located under: <TDV_HOME>/apps/extension
    3. Rename lmiEventHandler-1.0-SNAPSHOT-jar-with-dependencies.jar to CustomLogger.jar

      Note: The renaming of the jar is important as DV will only support the CustomLogger.jar name

    4. Locate the lmi.properties from the extracted package and copy it to: <TDV_HOME>/conf
    5. Edit the lmi.properties file and change the entries in the properties file to the LMI IP address or name of the LMI instance, and optionally update the collector domain feild
    6. In the Tibco Data Virtualization console, open the configuration window. In Server > "Events and Logging" > Logging > "Customer Logger", choose the "Enable Custom Logging" entry, and turn it to "true"

    7. While still in the configuration window, in Server > "Events and Logging" section move to "Event Generation", (Server > "Events and Logging" >  Event Generation")
    8. For each of the Event Generation types, add "CUSTOM" to the value field for each event types you which to receive.

    9. Save your changes and restart the TIBCO Data Virtualization service
    10. Verify that TIBCO Data Virtualization events logs reach LogLogic LMI on the log source status page. Events should show up under the TIBCO Data Virtualization IP. You can verify that events are successfully collected by running index, RegEx, or Advanced Search.
