bw.logger doesn't write to Application logs from java method/code in Business Works

I am trying to print the logging info from java method or java code to tibco application logs.

I tried using bw.logger in the java code, but application logs do not show up.

If I start the application on the shell, I can see the logs as below :

27 Oct 2020 10:45:52 DEBUG bw.logger - Started java code

27 Oct 2020 10:45:52 INFO bw.logger - ******************** ENVIRONMENT : DEV

I am using BW 5.14
