Custom Export ConfigurationManager.AppSettings

I have a custom export tool that worked pre-7.5. It would export the selected/marked/filtered records into a webservice. This webservice would then create a list of the records in a different software. The question have is previously in the web.config I used the AppSettings to store the variables (ie URL for the webservice, username, passsword.....).

In the newer versions, where can you store variables and access them from the custom tool
