Manoj Chaurasia
I had always been achieving this by converting Date datatype to String datatype via a mapper activity, but Is there any other way which could help me in passing a blank or NULL into Date field without Date to String conversion. Mathieu Delporte
Hi star, In XML an empty string isn't a valid value for a date node. You have two solutions for propagating the idea of "null" value. You can define your field as nillable or optional. Then if you receive an empty string you set your date field to nill value or absent. regards, Mathieu
Aditya Wagle
Try making the element a NIL element in the input mapper for the activity.
Manoj Chaurasia
In order to achieve this , Go to Schema - select the date element that you want to make it nillable -the go to properties tab - then mark this selected element as nillable ! This is just a way of making an element nillable .there are many other ways that I tried out .
Akriti Sharma
If you will try making that date field explicit nill in mapper it will give error.... I belive if it is a stored procedure make it nill at the time of mapping the date feild or if it is sql direct then use if else condition... Seth Dobbins
Using BusinessWorks Containter Edition Version 2.4.3, in the Input tab of the JDBC Procedure Activity, right-click on the dateTime input field and select "Show Edit Tab". On the Edit Statement tab, check the "Set Explicit Nil" checkbox in the Statement Type section.
