Manoharan Rangaswamy
Is anybody able to connect to Redshift databases from CIS v6.2 Is it supported Redshift is using Postgresql behind the scenes and we are able to connect to the database using SQL Workbench. Whereas CIS keeps on spinning and finally errors out with the message as below Unable to connect to data source "/users/ldap/mrangas/AWS_SSATDWDV" at "jdbc:postgresql://xxxxxx.xxxxxxxxx.us-west-2.redshift.amazonaws.com:5439/billingtcpKeepAlive=true". Make sure the URL information, user name and password are correct. [datasrc-3961025]Cause: Connection refused. Check that the hostname and port are correct and that the postmaster is accepting TCP/IP connections.
Sadia Ali
Redshift is not currently supported asa built-in data source in CIS 6.2. However, it is scheduledcurrently as a new featurefor CIS 7.0.2.
Sadia Ali
I believer Redshift is also shipped as an example data source for the new Toolkit in CIS 7.0. But I have not tried or test it yet myself.
Manoj Chaurasia
We have RedShift working on our 6.2 version. If you continue to struggle, do let us know.
Manoharan Rangaswamy
Does the existing PostgreSQL adapter work or did you copy the Amazon Redshift JDBC driver and create a custom adapter to connect to Amazon Redshift
Jason Tiret
That's correct, Sadia. It is a sample DSTK adapter that can be deployed in 7.0. There is an extensibility guide in the doc section that walks through that process. Regarding a Redshift adapter, in our data source list, that is not in the plans for 7.0.2 currently. It's possible we may add that in future 7.0.x service packs.
Jason Tiret
I'm not sure what Edosa did for the custom adapter in 6.2, but I believe there were some changes needed to the postgres adapter for it to work with Redshift. A quick guide of the differences is here: http://docs.aws.amazon.com/redshift/latest/dg/c_redshift-and-postgres-sql.html
Andrew Sturt
Does Tibco Data Virtualization have a connector to Redshift in it's roadmap yet (or does it already have one and I'm just not aware of it) If not, can anyone tell me how I wouldcreate a Redshift data source
