Having Trouble Setting Up a Data Source

I am trying to setup a Data Source so I can build my infomration Links I am using SQL Server Management Studio I put in my server, the port the database name my user name and passowrd I keep getting this error:

 

Cannot connect to data source 'Data source', due to invalid configuration or that the data source is not running.

Database reported:

Login failed for user 'sikorsk'. ClientConnectionId:9f77c9eb-8de9-4f27-929a-2204961ffa95

 

I have tried everything it is not allowing me to create the datasource. I need to create information links so I need to see the data sources. Yet if I do an import and connect directly to the SQL Database it works fine. Anyone have any suggestions
